Re: Do You Believe in Equality?
That's pretty stupid - it's always "funny", in a sad way, to see someone misrepresent a position so they can tear it down.

I've never actually put it into words, but you've done it. How common it is. How many times over the last few years has compsciguy concocted such scenarios which misquote, misrepresent, twist and then tear em down? And it is funny in a sad way. But above all else it's just stupid. .

Re: Do You Believe in Equality?
Well said. That was exactly my point. The characters use many of the arguments that are used by the anti theists.

Re: Do You Believe in Equality?
I can't even follow who the characters are, and what points they are trying to make. And I don't see arguments that "anti-theists" make, and most of the statements are, well, as I said, stupid.
Want to come back and discuss, Mike?
(I know that won't happen, though.)

What are yhou talking about? I am discussing. But if you want to maintain that you don't see the arguments that anti theists make, then, you have a point; there probably isn't much to discuss. I do, agree, however, that they are stupid.

Re: Do You Believe in Equality?
Hi Mike. In general, my observation is that you don't stick around and discuss issues. For instance, you frequently drop by with statements about the provisional nature of science and about science making moral judgements, but when people reply you don't come back and engage in any ongoing conversation. That's what I meant.
But I don't get the cartoon - I don't even see anything there that is "anti-theistic". Except for one panel, God isn't even mentioned.
So what is a statement in the cartoon that is significant to you, or a statement that you think "anti-theists" make?
