Board members are elected as lay people and not
experts in any field. Therefore, they should depend upon experts to make
recommendations.

I was involved in the last two debates about science
on the State Board and believe they were a sad reflection of education in
Hopefully we will not be involved in this issue
again. However, if we are, I will once again stand up for real science
recommended by the mainstream experts.
